Does anybody know the wheel size on a k1500? I believe its 16x7? Also im interested in putting some aluminum wheels off an 89 on my truck, what would be the widest and biggest tires i can put on my truck without any rubbing problems on stock suspension. I believe the aluminum ones are 15x7

I believe they stock one are 16x7. You can run up to a 265/75r16 and they wont rub if you turn the torsion bars up you can run 285/75r16. But if you are going to run the 15x7 I would say a 31/10.50r15 maybe a 32/11.50r15 but you may have to run an eight inch wheel for them. I am not for sure but make sure a 15x7 will mount on the K1500 due to the brakes. I would try and mount one before I bought tires. I hope this helps.

I believe they would mount as i saw an 89 gmc k1500 for sale with the exact same wheels on it. Should pop up if you search up 89 gmc k1500.

Haven't researched it, but I've never seen 15" wheels on a GMT400.

16" is ultra-common. My '88 came with steelies, but got swapped for OEM 16" aluminum wheels when the tire store I was using had some take-offs.

I ran 15x8 square body steel sport rims with 33/1250/15 on my 95 z71. Little light rubbing at full lock but not an issue

I have 15x10 aluminium wheels on my K1500 with 33 x 12.5/15. The rims only just fitted over the calipers to the point I filed the casting flash off of them to guarantee some clearance but I think they had an extra thick casting in the rim. Originally it came with 15 x 10 aluminium rims and only needed a small amount of trimming at the back of the guard for full lock but when I swapped to the 15 x 10 rims it pulled the tire outwards so needed a whole lot more trimming. That said, the truck handles 100% better with the correct width rims for the tire size as there is less lateral movement in the tires themselves when cornering.

I suspect @Schurkey was also referring to 4x4s.
Well...uh...ummm...YEAH. Sure I was!

Truth is, my brain just assumes that a GMT400 is a 4WD. I only know one guy around here who had a 2WD. (That assumption has gotten me into trouble with bad advice on this board before.)

So...what is the bolt circle on those C1500s? 5 X 5", or 5 X 5 1/2"?
