So I have a 96 Chevy LS suburban k1500 5.7 4 x 4 will a 93 GMC SLE suburban 4x4 transmission fit in my 96

1993 was the year that our trucks went from 4L60 to 4L60E. If you have a TV cable, it won't swap. If you don't, it will.

Will it fit? Sure.

Will it work properly? Maybe. Someone more knowledgeable than me will have to chime in.

There could be wire-harness differences, there could be torque converter differences. Somewhere along the line the torque converter clutch went to a different clutch material designed to allow some slippage. Earlier converter clutches were on/off. Later converter clutches were "modulated" from zero to almost 100% engagement. I don't remember when the change happened.

pcm tuning & valve body mods will be required for it to work properly. just rebuild your transmission or find a 96 or 97 core and roll the dice
