89 silverado gauge swap altenator not charging

Fixed it, checked the continuity from the altenator to the plug and there was nothing, ran a new wire and boom charging. Mayne the tugging in the wires to soldier them caused it to break.

From your picture, Curious to know why your oil gauge needle is pointing way over to 3 o’clock. Is it only like that when the ignition is off?
never seen one do that unless there was something wrong with the oil gauge.

Ignition is on in that photo tho, so the sender may not be hooked up. Like the fuel gauge it'll peg 3:00 if there's no connection.
