88-98 4x4 lower control arm compatibility

I have a 93 gmc light duty 2500 6 bolt truck that the lower control arms are rotten on. I’ve been trying to find replacements like everyone else and have found the same thing, that they are no longer available new. Even all the scrap yards in my area have none. I did find a neighbor with a 99 1500 series truck but the lower control arms look different on the ends. The measurements between is the same. Will these lca off the newer truck fit mine? I’m assuming they improved the design so crap didn’t settle on the ends like happened to mine ??

There are three types of lower control arms,2 are stamped and are either (rivet or press in)

the forged control arms are an upgrade and can be bought with with these part numbers# 512-01592L 512-01591R got a set for 139$ and installed them,the stamped steel lca's part numbers are 512-01594L 512-01593R i got mine from ebay,there also on justparts

I wonder if there’s any difference between the 2 stamped. My original on my truck are stamped with rivets and the replacements I hope to use are stamped with Pressed lower ball joint

As said, the three types are interchangeable as an assembly.

Ideally, you'd have matching arms so that replacement ball joints can be ordered as a pair, instead of two individual ball joints with different part numbers to fit the different style of arms.

Theres a thread where O.P. compared and installed a set of LCA's from an AWD Astro. Seems they are a 99% match, still available, and cheap.

Front Lower Control Arms

There is no replacement of the gmt400 lower arms. You have to rebuild them. i have been there and done that. I even emailed numerous front end manufacturers, and they all declined to manufacture them. It is a problem.
