This is a Carlson brand tailgate. If you don't have a 5th wheel, maybe use it as an air gate for 'better' mpg?

Looks like a nicer version of what Rawhide has. One thing we like about it, is it's lots easier to see what's behind you with this style gate. Since one ton CCLB's stick up a bit in the back when not loaded, and most people in Houston, Texas area drive like they're in a video game, whipping in and around you, that's a definite benefit.
Don't know what affect it has on mileage, this truck is thirsty in town even though it's just a 350....
GLWS, wish you were closer! This looks welded together and well made. Mine has rivets holding the bars and several have broken.
