5 speed help

What 5 spd manual comes with the v6? I tried googling it all that comes up are 5 speed swap kits.

Also is it possible to change the throwout bearing without removing the fork?

Getrag NV3500 or NV4500. I never messed with em so can't say bout bearing

Nv3500 vs nv4500 are quite different in appearance so a quick google of them should help you ID which you have. Nv3500 is one piece aluminum case with integral bell housing while nv4500 is cast iron body with removable bellhousing. Curious why you are asking about the fork, both transmissions must be separated from engine to change throw out bearing.

Because i have the trans out but i cant get the bearing out. The fork wont turn enough to let the bearing get out

Should be nv3500 and the fork should pop off the pivot ball with a slight pry

The GM manual tranny had a couple names: HM290 in 88-89 ish. 5LM60 in 89-91 ish. And NV3500 later.
There were internal differences and a teardown is necessary to correctly identify them.

The NV4500 is a heavy duty tranny, usually found in 3500 trucks, and I've NEVER seen it paired with a v6.

They came in the W/T and 6 lug 2500s. I've seen more than a couple in junkyards....
