My 1996 GM c1500 doesn't have a ECU/ECM behind dash board. Is this normal ?

Unless they moved it after my earlier model was built it is likely to be hiding behind the glove box. Best to remove the box for decent access. There are many answers to questions here, some easier to find than others. Welcome to the forum.
