A while back, I picked up this 75 D300 to convert into a flatbed. I can’t believe I bought a Dodge being a GM guy...It’s currently got its stock 318 and NP435. I got it from the original owner who extended the frame 5 or so feet. It’s got a 14 foot bed! It was sitting for the past five years and I did some repairs where I got it to get it home which was an hour and a half away. So my plan is to get rid of this box either by selling it or chopping it and leaving the decking. I may also shorten the frame to stock as it’s a land yacht. Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I’m pretty much wide open but I do want to stick to the original motor and trans. Let me know what y’all think. Thanks!

Nice. My dad had a 76 D100 with a 318 when I was a kid. I think it was this same color, too. He bought it used and drove it all through the 80's, and sold it when he got his 90 GMC. It looked like an old truck by the time he stopped driving it, and I often think it's funny that his old truck, then was "younger" than my 99 is now.

If you've got the skills I think shortening the frame is a good idea depending on what you want to do with it. I'd want a regular long box, but I know that again depends on the usage.

I think I'd also want to get rid of that radiator..... doesn't look right, too "race" looking for me.

Guard that giant grille with your life. They fetch a pretty penny IF you can find them anymore.
Needs a 440, btw. Lol!
Really? I didn’t know they were so expensive. I’ve got $600 in the whole truck and the whole family hates it.

Yeah I’m not sure if it’s the giant box on the back but that 318 has no power.

They’re good trucks from what I’ve seen. For it to sit like it did and get me home in one piece, I’m impressed. I do have the original radiator to it. That was the $140 EBay special that got me home.
