I have a 96 1500 z71. 10 bolts about to :dancingpoop:
I just bought a 14 bolt sf out of a 97 2500. I'm cleanin it up and putting new brakes on it then i'm getting ready to throw it under. Thats where i need a little help. I wont have to relocate shocks or anything right? Do i just need a 2500 brake proportioning valve when it comes to the brakes? Which u-joint do i need? And are the shackles the same between 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton? If I'm puttin new leafs under the back i wanna upgrade. I think thats about everything i need to know... If not someone chime in? Thanks!

As long as you got the 14 bolt from a 4x4 it will bolt right up with a conversion u-joint: Precision 447 or 448 if you have the 1 pc aluminum driveshaft, or you could use the pinion from your 10 bolt and you wouldn't need a new u-joint. Not sure about the proportioning valve. Leafs from a 2500 will bolt right in place of the ones you have now

Like said it will bolt right in and can swap yokes to avoid a conversion ujoint. as for brakes there is no need to change the mc but the prop valve will keep the rear brakes from randomly locking up.

It is NOT the same one. Standard JB5 brakes have part number 12548273, stamped "D". JB6 brakes have part number 12548265, stamped "A".
