w2ould a 14 10.5 work on q burban

10.5" ring gear 14 bolts have 8 lug axles in all 4X4 applications. You'll want a 9.5" 14 bolt, with 6 lug axles out of a 4X4 truck/suv. 2 wheel drive 14 bolt SF's are narrower.

True, but if you want to step up to a full floating rear axle you need the 10.5

I do believe only the 8600lb gvwr and up trucks came with the 10.5, but don't quote me on that.

For most guys, the 9.5 6 lug semi floating axle is more than enough strength. Even running larger tires.

Semi floaters came in both 6 and 8 lug configurations IIRC.

Junkyard spotting for them is easy: if you find a 2500 door emblem and it's got 6 lugs, you've got a 9.5 semi-floater (assuming no one has messed with the door emblems or rear axle!)

:)
