I am so so so so so sorry! I meant l31 5.7. I dont know how I typed LS. Ugh. Didnt mean to cause any rifts haha.

SO YEAH. L31 with 4l60e and NP243C (99% sure) with 0411 going in.

Base tune to get it going and keep 4x4 somehow? Swapping of segments? Start with Van tune and swap in system info for 4x4 from S10, or swap in engine info to an s10 4l60e 4x4 base tune?

You can just start with a van tune, you don't lose 4wd. What happens is the PCM doesn't account for 4lo, so you'll really have to zing it out to shift it out of 1st. You can have the truck functional now and mess with the 4lo stuff as you go.

Start with a van tune? Should be just fine? Swap in a S10 segment about 4wd? I am nervous. I got my bench harness in today and have quite a few different bins I have been trying to make correct. I havent started the pinout swap yet. I did contact lextech about getting a pinout and base tune, but he said that he uses HPTuners I believe. I was wanting a BIN of some sort.

I am pretty handy with electronics, shouldnt be an issue there. Just want to make sure I can have some 4x4 in this coming winter. Its supposed to snow tomorrow here in MT.
I did the 411 swap into my 1998 k1500 two years ago using the pinout from Lextech. I bought a 411 pcm pre-programmed with a 2002 Xvan tune from him at the same time. He uses EFILive and has posted BIN files on a different page if you want to use them (he may have it pinned on his post here as well but it's easy to find his other page by google if not). I ran with the Xvan tune until this Spring when I swapped to 24x so needed an LS based tune to run. The only issue post-411 swap with the xvan tune was a CEL from a crank relearn which was easy enough to clear. Beyond the 1998 k1500 with an L31 my knowledge is very limited. I only know of LS motors from what I studied in prep-ing for conversion to 24x.

AFAIK you only need to change this single cell from a yes to a no to make the tune play nice with 24X.

I don't know whether that will or will not work. I know that Aloicious who started the pinned thread states specifically that it won't. I also know that the 2002 silverado tune maps over just fine once the tables are exchanged which is the route I took. I looked at the F body tune that Aloicious used but didn't go that route because of the differences (which I noted in my original post on this thread) and consequently didn't have to change my AC controls nor did I have to do an egr delete. If it's a simple matter of checking a box in the xvan tune then you should post it in the pinned 24x conversion thread since it would be new information to those still doing it.

That would require me to do it first. Wouldn't surprise me if there was more to it because ETC and flex fuel isn't that simple despite there being on/off switches in the tune and tables for ETC. But I also don't think that table was unlocked in EFILive back when Aloicious was active.

ETC as well as a non computer trans were as simple as flipping switches for me. My L31 was running ETC with the stock ignition system and a low res crank sensor at one point. My buddies truck and my 6.0L 87 G20 both have TH400s. Set the trans to non computerized automatic and all the trans related trouble codes disappeared. On the Green/Blue PCm flex fuel is that simple as well. Add the sensor, flip the switch and start tuning. Currently using an 05 DBC L31 tune on my 383 with flex fuel and segment swapped from the 5spd to the 4L80E. Actual lean cruise is a simple fix too on any gen3 controller based tune.

I see lots of sellers of the 0411 on ebay. Some want you to provide a Vin to load in. Does anyone have an actual 02 L31 van vin they can post?
