    Reading O2 Heater circuit voltage

Thanks for all the advice, and thanks to Road Trip for taking the time to write all that out. I can read the O2 sensor data live, but the heater circuit is separate, so I'm not sure if it will help. I'm going to have to wait a few weeks to dig deeply into this again, since I unfortunately have...

    Reading O2 Heater circuit voltage

Thanks for the feedback guys. I bought a bosch sensor, and the previous owner had already replaced it once, so I don't think it's the sensor. I believe it's in the wiring, but I was just trying to go through the diagnostic steps one by one, and got stuck at this step. I could disable the rear o2...

    Reading O2 Heater circuit voltage

97 tahoe, 5.7 vortec engine. This is the second o2 sensor, so I suppose I could turn it off. Is that an option on a 97? To reflash the pcm with hp tuners?

    Reading O2 Heater circuit voltage

I'm trying to troubleshoot a recurring O2 sensor heater circuit code, P0161. I just replaced the sensor, but the problem persists. I have the Dash Command app with the extra GM PIDs, but unfortunately, it doesn't have the bank 2 sensor 2. It has B1S1, B1S3??, B2S1, but no B2S2. I also tried...

    CMP retard no reading

Dash Command worked, I'm at -4 degrees.

Ok thanks, I'll try Dash Command.

    CMP retard no reading

So I have been getting some intermittent check engine lights on my 97 2 door k1500 tahoe, and I decided to check my CMP offset, but I can't get a reading. I followed the setup advice on my torque app, but still no reading. I'm getting a p1351, p0327, and p0161 right now. The truck runs fine, but...

    Steering wheel refinishing

I dyed the airbag as well, although the color match was pretty close.

    Steering wheel refinishing

So just wanted to give an update. I bought a used wheel from ebay for $100 that was better than mine, but I decided to re-dye it. First, I applied some superglue to fill in the damage, and sanded it smooth. Then, I coated it with some dark gray leather dye, I think it came out pretty nice. This...

    Steering wheel refinishing

Has anyone tried to recover their steering wheel, and how did it come out? I see there are used wheels on ebay, but I'm thinking about attempting a recover myself. Mine is a 97 Tahoe K1500. I found this for later model vehicles, but I haven't been able to find one for my wheel: On amazon, ...

    Red converter

Any idea what converter this is? I thought the transmission was original, but now I'm wondering if it is. 1997 2 door tahoe, k1500, 4l60e.

    Wire harness chafing

Ok thanks. I taped up the damaged wire, and used some tie wraps to the A/C line to keep the harness from sitting on the EGR tube.

    Wire harness chafing

Is this harness routed correctly, or am I missing some kind of clamp to hold it off of the EGR hose? I'm chasing some electrical issues, I'm pretty sure some of the wires are damaged here.

    Transmission Options

Got it all back together, back on the road finally. So far so good. I did find out that there is an aftermarket upgrade for the output shaft retaining clip from Sonnax, so hopefully this doesn't happen again.

    Transfer case stupid question thread

Thanks. I left it sitting with the shaft, so it definitely was the right one. Nothing else was close. My truck is a 97 two door Tahoe, K1500, 4L60E trans. I could have bent it, but honestly I don't see how, I just opened it enough to remove it. It bent back pretty easy too, so I'm thinking it is...

    Transfer case stupid question thread

Rebuilding my NP241C case, found my input shaft retaining ring is not fitting tightly. I was able to bend it back into size, but still doesn't fit as tight as it should on the shaft. Any idea where I could get a replacement? Or is this typical, that the input shaft ring doesn't fit tightly?

    Transmission Options

Got the transfer case out today, and mostly taken apart. The circlip on the output shaft failed, and allowed the shaft to move. Spit out some of the synchro keys and what I think is the synchro hub spring. Will finish taking it apart tomorrow and assessing the damage, hopefully nothing was...

    Transmission Options

OK, think I've got it figured out. The noise is coming from the transfer case, seems like it tries to engage the front driveshaft when it's not supposed to. Also, I went to pull the fill plug, and a ton of extra fluid came out too, so I'm thinking I'll rebuild the whole thing. transfer case...

    Transmission Options

OK, so I took it to a trans shop today, and the mechanic swears it is not the transmission. He says he has heard this type of sound before, it is engine related. Maybe a cracked exhaust manifold? Check out this montage of weird sounds: Tahoe mystery noise

    Transmission Options

It sounded kind of like trying to engage the starter with a running engine. Like a high speed metal collision. Under really light load, I could avoid the noise about 50% of the time, but if I accelerated at a normal pace, it started making noise. I was 35 miles from home when it happened, but...

    Transmission Options

Thanks for the suggestions. Down here, I have very little confidence that I can find a qualified rebuilder, but I'm going to call around as suggested. I know the remanufactured units are no guarantee either, but I'm leaning in that direction. My neighbor recommended a Jasper, not sure if that is...

    Transmission Options

It looks like my transmission on my 97 2 Door Tahoe K1500 is on the way out, got some pretty bad sounds coming from it now. No slipping, but based on the suddenness of the noise, from my research it sounds like the sun shell is cracked. Any suggestions for a shop in the Miami area? I'm leaning...

Cracked Intake Manifold at Coolant Sensor

Thanks for the feedback guys. I decided to take it off and weld it up. It's all back together now although I'll have to put some miles on it before I claim victory.

Cracked Intake Manifold at Coolant Sensor

I should add that as I was tightening it, it got easier to tighten at a certain point. I'm wondering if I can get away with some sealant or threadlocker and a bit less torque since it looks to be a hairline crack that opens when tightened.
