So I have been getting some intermittent check engine lights on my 97 2 door k1500 tahoe, and I decided to check my CMP offset, but I can't get a reading. I followed the setup advice on my torque app, but still no reading. I'm getting a p1351, p0327, and p0161 right now. The truck runs fine, but I would like to sort this out. Any ideas on why I can't get the CMP offset to read?

Do you have to buy additional capability with that scan system to read CMP offset?

I've never worked with it. I read multiple threads about folks with software-plus-connector cable (or dongle) scan systems, and can't get them to work right.

I use an actual scan tool instead of a scan tool simulation.
