Truck has been running fairly well. Always had a bit of miss at idle that I've exhausted all resources diagnosing. Now it's started to die at idle and it throwing a code 33. The scanner shows the sensor seems to be working. The scanner shows in park at idle the map pressure is around 40KPA. Shift it into gear with the AC on it jumps up to 65KPA. Should I replace the map sensor or look elsewhere? The sensor is $56 and it was replaced within the last 1- 2 years.

Have you been through the manual to see if there are any clues? Here are a couple pages from the 95 emissions manual

I am fairly certain the MAP sensor failed. Found another trouble shooting diagnostic that sensor middle terminal should produce around .5V with the key on not running. Mine was producing close to 5V which is the same as the supply voltage. I replaced it and it hasn't stalled yet. I'll give it a couple of days before I call it fixed.

Hopefully that's all it was. It's surprising to me that it had already been replaced though; usually the original sensor lasts the lifetime of the truck. Not one you often see failed.

Truck has about 400,000 miles on it. I rebuilt the motor last year.
