Got a buddy trying to convince me to debadge the truck, and keep the color matched bumpers with no impact strips. Would save me close to $1k not having to buy new chrome bumpers and all associated bits. What do you all think?
From what I can see, the bumper looks good. Not a fan of debadging, paint the grille and get the GMC for it.

GMC is already on the way, although it hasn’t shipped yet and I ordered it 6 days ago uhggg.

I guess I figured it would look strange with slick bumpers but the badging and bump strips on the doors. However after looking back at pics that’s how the 99 Tahoe I pulled the bumpers off of was equipped. So that makes me feel better I like to try to make stuff look someone OEM or OEM+. And most certainly don’t want to lose the GMC 2500 badge or everyone will think it’s a silly half ton

Spent another 3 hours of shampooing and it’s not like new, but it’s “clean” and smells good. Also found a small silver bar which is not worth much but cool!

A weird thing I’m struggling with is turn signals/tail lights. My front passenger side corner marker light is somehow getting 12v to both sides of the plug and therefore not illuminating the bulb.

Also still have absolutely zero lights to the rear, haven’t metered them yet but I have to assume it’s somehow related to the corner marker. No fuses are blown I checked every fuse in the truck.

Take a a look at trailer light harness and ground. I had an issue with mine and it caused taillights issues.
Another thing to look at, there is a White wire in the main harness back there that should be capped off. This White wire IS a HOT wire that is for an auxiliary CHSML trailer brake light or if you had a camper. If it’s possibly grounding to something, that might cause issues. Easy to find, put a test light on it and have someone step on the brake.

Oh wow, dangerous place for the cat to be.
I figured a cat this dumb would have died years ago but here it is still.
