You think putting jack stands in front of the notch and behind the notch before cutting would be enough support? Or would I need something to connect both side as well? so 4 jack stands total
I think that would be fine, since the frame will never be cut all the way in two. Remember the old carpenter's adage: Measure twice, cut once.

I’m halfway though my 4/6 drop. Got the $1200 kit from AZ Pro Performance, upgraded to the Street Performance shocks. Front is done just need alignment, went to do the back and there is an old bracket in the way from way I guess a drop setup in the past. Watched multiple vids, once I cut the brackets off, going to drill pilot holes in the corners of the cut to lessen stress cracks, sawzall diamond blade for cut, use a step drill bit for 1/2 “ holes while the bed is on.

That's a bag bracket. Since the frame isn't notched I'd guess it was for helper bags.

Need some help peeps. I went to put on my Beltech upgrade Street Performance rear shocks and when I bolt up the bottom, swing to the top into place it seems at the top (2 bolts) arnt going to lay flat, right. Feels like the top eyes need to turn slightly to be flush. I checked to see if each shock installs on a certain side and they are identical. Am I missing something here?

You're bolting them in backwards IMO. I bolt the top then swing them down and bolt the bottom. The mount will turn in the bushing, it's not easy to turn, but it will. Using the shock body as a lever helps turn it.

Appreciate it! I tried by hand but before I break it, wanted to make sure it was suppose to turn.

Hi everyone. I recently got a 1990 RCLB C2500 and I'm planning on doing a 4/6 drop using a Belltech 146-701SP complete lowering kit. I've worked on various cars all my life but this is the first time on a Chevy truck.

How much time do I need to do the complete job by myself?

I don't have any extra hands to help me with the job but I do have a lot of tools except for an engine hoist. C-notch will likely be cut with a cutting wheel and sawzall then bolted on.

I'm constantly searching through this board, youtube and google in preparation but any suggestions, tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated.
