Locked out.

Truck is either dead batt or dead fob and no lock cylinders inside of my Topkick handles currently.

Anyone know off the top of their heads how to release the hood cable from the outside of the truck?

You can either break the cable free from the latch or unsnap it from the latch and give it a pull.

I would grab a ride to the nearest applicable store and try a new FOB battery.

Just a thought as I've never done this myself... But I would think if the truck battery is the issue you could probably crawl underneath and hook jumper cables or a battery charger to the terminals on the starter. Not really ideal but that should give you enough juice to unlock the door at least.

Dunnit first. Had the extra battery. Saying the actual fob itself might be trash. Popped it open and everything looks ok on the board. It's a new (aftermarket unit) but who knows.

I'm betting battery went dead for some reason. Haven't been driving it much.

I tried that once to try to start the truck..... too easy to hit negative with the positive cable. I gave up after the first attempt. The clamp is just too big to get a good angle.

I could definitely see that being an issue with standard jumper cables. The smaller clamps on something like a jump box or a trickle charger might work though.

Yeah, I didn't think about the little ones.

I think it's 7/32 wrench..... I just grabbed one that looked long without being too fat.

If you reach in through the grille, you can pull the lever were the cable attached to the latch.

I was actually able to pop the hood, but I did place the wrench were I needed it while looking at it.... but it is possible so maybe with a couple of trys you can do it blind.
