There's a gm adapter harness for using 96-98 controls in a 95. Otherwise it's splice and solder or make your own adapter harness.

I've never been able to find the adapter harness separate from the controls. As far as I know, it's included with the controls when you buy new replacement controls for a 1995 model - they send you a 1996-1998 model control with the adapter harness already installed. This is what that looks like:

I used the 96-98 controls in my dash swap to avoid this very issue. I know they sell new units for the 95, but they’re pretty pricy.

I don’t know if the blend door motors are 95-98, or 96-98 for interchange, but there’s that option on salvage yard acquisition. If worse comes to worse, then solder the 96+ onto the 95, so you can use the 96 & up controls. The circuit board and plugs are the difference in the items I believe.

Do you know a part number or who sells it

Dorman sells one but I wouldn’t recommend it. Mine started smoking after about ten minutes. That’s the fastest I’ve ever taken one out. Also, the knobs were just different enough to be annoying: they were slightly smaller so you could see a ring of backlight around them.

I bought a Delco version, it’s closer to factory and hasn’t caught on fire...the little things kind of matter sometimes.

The backlights on it are a little bluer than factory so they don’t match exactly, but those could be swapped from your original if needed.

Annnd that's why I try as much as possible to get junkyard stuff to work. Those little differences drive me nuts. They usually even feel different, like the detents in the switches aren't the same or the feel of the knobs is slightly off. Chincy comes to mind. And people often like to b-itch about how bad the interior quality is from the factory. Well, it could be worse!

Definitely, I'd rather mess up a vehicle that was destined to be scrapped anyway than my own or a friend's.
