ok Al.......

talk about fu@kin weird.

my brother uses my e-bay account for his stuff....easy fer him and i get the feedback...anyway.....at the time i was looking for OEM foglights for the GMC he was helping a bit and went with me to get the woodstove, we were talking about lots of ****...anyway he heard me talking about the fogs and that i couldn't find a set.....

being the nice sumbitch he is, he took it upon himself to "halp"me.....one day he asked if i had found the fogs, i told him no, i don't have a SET.....he said hmmmmmm.

a few days ago i got a bunch of boxes, i don't even know what i order half the time or when they're coming...so i start opening the boxes and envelopes.....

i got my H2 bulb holders, yay!

if you want them i'll be happy to sell em to you. i don't need or want them...just for cost and ship.

I did! I did!

LOL!

Not sure...

been pretty busy lately. Coincidences Abound! Speaking of Audio/Sound...

My Wife's Grandfather worked in a quarry & saved a brass Lunkenheimer 2 1/2" 1892 Bowtie-Fulcrum Steam Whistle many years ago. Knowing that my (his Great-Grandson) absolutely loves trains, he gave it to me. My son is turning 2 on April 4th and I was working on a train whistle project much of the weekend in my free time... The initial project became a learning experience, costing me about $200 in PVC plumbing and fittings at the Home Repo. Discovered an interesting facet of steam-powered whistles, and what happens when you try to use compressed air... Steam has some interesting characteristics when it is released in tight quarters & under a decent amount of pressure... It rapidly expands then contracts and condenses, something which compressed air cannot replicate. Acts kinda like inhaling Helium... also rediscovered an issue I played with before when learning to sandblast, PSI means squat if it isnt paired with steady volume. These whistles operated on 200psi -Steam... even if I could push a steady volume of compressed air @ 200psi out the whistle, it would sound weak and pathetic without the physics of steam.... but, thanks be to the power of accidental discovery via google, and the magic of You Tube, all that PVC plumbing can be utilized still for a compressed air train whistle...

Back to lighting and the original topic of this thread. As Id said earlier, I have a set of real Anzo's. They are pretty damn good for Chinesium and the quality wasnt bad, although not quite as "Skookum" ;) as the GM original materials. As Id posted in a previous picture/thread, they are yellowing after several years of regular use in New England. I also have had issues with them at car washes over the years (splash/condensation). I also have an old habit of turning on my lights, regardless of the road conditions/time of day... which may have played into their yellowing as well.

I Most Definately will be switching to Spyders during the rebuild. I plan on buying 2 sets, because they wont make them forever and Id hate to be caught without options when/if I need replacements.

The Anzos are damn good, for a period of time. They definately seem to suffer from the same issue all composites do. I suspect they will degrade far worse than GM originals do because of the materials they are made of. They definately dont have fiberglass-reinforced shells. I also have to wonder about the lenses hazing, both inside and out. Far as I can tell, the GM originals are only UV-damaged on the exterior surface, w/ no heat damage to the interior surface.

wonderful.....now i have NOS obsolete General Motors KC fog lights....and we don't what they fit!
LMAO.....i guess i better make a bigger shelf.

they're big too....i'll get a picture later...i want some beam shots of the fogs anyway.

Well, they definately were tied to GMT400's as an accessory, according to the PN. Which one? God only knows... possibly the GMC "Ruffian" C/K package?
I know that GMC offered it with some bigger, pre-wired accessory foglights from KC, mounted on a factory roll bar and a push bar, I only saw one once. Cant recall if it was a fleetside, but my memory says it was a Black, reg cab/stepside K1500..

That said, I only know of 2 types of GM accessory pushbar/brush bar.
'88-'9(?) Pushbar - aluminum
'97-'98 1500 & '97-'00 C/K 2500/3500 full brush guard - aluminum
(Maybe each used longer than I indicated)

No Idea what GM used for a Roll Bar, but it had "GMC" covers on big, square KC lights.

don't have clue...i haven't bothered to research it.....but i doubt anyone would WANT to put these on a roll bar...they're real fog lights.

here's an idea what thy are either way. stock, Airport 35, KC and the Cibie 175 fog, which is probably the best halogen fog light made.
