my speedometer sticks (moves in small bursts) until i reach around 20mph,not a big issue but a lil annoying.it reads right after 20 mph, whats causing this and is there an easy way to fix it?

My RPM needle does the same thing. It will bounce about 200 rpm when going highway speeds. I was told it wasnt worth digging into.

Anyone know the best place to get a bench seat cover for a 1997 Sierra?

Are you asking about a factory style seat 'skin', or a seat cover, 'seat cover'? (al a Walmart) If the second, why? As an upholstery guy, it figures that I wouldn't like 'em. They always move around, the attachment system is lousy, & any dirt trapped between the seat & the cover will make your seats wear out faster.

Factory style skin i believe is what im looking for. Stock skin has a hole in it right at the drivers side and im gearing up to list the truck for sale so trying to fix odd and ends.

As upholstery guy would it be cheaper to buy a replacement skin or get the top fabric fixed? Thanks

If the uphol. guy near you has a matching material in stock, it would cost somewhere around $75.00. That's what I would charge, & that's without seeing it. If he has to order in some material, then it'll be more. Most shops don't like to order less than 1/2 a yard. You probably need a third of that or less. Sounds like a typical worn-out outside edge.

I asked this in the audio thread but thought I would add here also. Taking out the jack under the rear seat so I can install a subwoofer box. The jack box is not coming out without a fight. I took a bolt out on the right side but the box will not come out. Spin nut off the top and bolt out of the right side - what am I missing??? Tried pulling, prying and kicking (!) but nothing has working so far. Suggestions?

Isnt there some sort of square nut you gotta take off from underneath the truck? Take a gander under there and see.
