I got a catalog and then a package from some online clothing store delivered....some girls name, but my address. Weird. The catalog got tossed, but I threw the package in a mail box with return to sender written on it.

Recently, I had a distributor cap never show up but was marked delivered. Amazon sent another, though.
Thank goodness Amazon send you another one. I guess that's another thing I should think about it being sent to the wrong address.Even though I know it's porch pirates I have a gut feeling about that.

Just remembered one other occurrence of package theft. I am a fan of the Canadian rock band “Default”. I remembered a time that I ordered a CD from them and it never arrived, I think that it showed up at my old address in MI. I remembered it now because my wife was talking about going out to MI to take a vacation and thought of that incident.

Tommy Sorry to hear about you problem I also live in Chicago, (southside) I would have packages shipped to my neighbor who is always home or a business near me that I notify in advance. Camera is nice, but it wont solve your problem.

Crime of all types seems to be on the upswing. If you're getting packages from a-zon you could opt for having them delivered to their locker service. I used to think it was a dumb idea, but lately, I get a lot of things sent there. Obviously not an option if the items are coming from elsewhere, or if they're too large to fit.

I swear that years ago, I had a mail carrier stealing packages before ever delivering them. Small boxes, things that could possibly have been valuable, would just never arrive. Also a vehicle title, which I had to file for a certified copy to replace. Anyway so I finally caught up to the dude one day and asked WTH happened to my packages. He seemed a little caught off guard, then a couple hours later they amazingly appeared. Packages that were "missing" for weeks....

Had you watched them with tracking and/or filed a lost claim? I had an item I sold on ebay get lost by the Post Office. It went to some USPS facility and vaoprized, so I filed a lost packagage claim, which started the tracking over again. Time went by, and all of a sudden it reappeared, starting moving, and then I think stopped.... then all of a sudden got delivered. I was going to refund the buyer, but he insisted he'd wait... it was a very old (and I'm guessing rare item) and he was a collector. I thought for sure it would look like a dog chewed on it, and then got left in a mud puddle, but he said it looked fine.

Yes, I was happy Amazon did send another, but they did make me wait claiming thier system showed the shipper (UPS) showed a delay/false delivery and that it would arrive the next day....which is stupid, tracking doesn't do that. Also, it technically was the next day, and I'm pretty sure my neighbor had already recieved his UPS package. Sure enough, when I got home from work, still no package. Then they let me "re-order" the cap, and I got it just fine. I was out in the garage, and the UPS guy handed it to me. Still haven't installed it yet.... weather got cold again.

I remember getting the false delivered confirmations too. Always one day ahead. That is a royal pain
