My 1993 truck has the center drink holder right under the stereo. It is a stock option and the internals are plastic and have broken, so you can put a drink in it right now without having it fall straight through. I went to the junk yard and out of the 15-25 trucks and burbs, non had the center drink holder. It wasn't that other people had taken them, they just weren't part of the dash, like it was an upgraded special option from the factory....Was this a factory option? I will keep searching but damn are they expensive on the ebays and everyone's car needs a drink holder!

My first GMT 400 was a 1993 WT that I bought in 99. At that time, there were a bunch of them in the junk yards with a lot of parts avable in them. I really wanted the dash cup holder for mine. I went to our local Chevy dealer first to get one, but it was stupid expensive. So after some looking at the junk yard, I found several, and got one from there. So, yes, it was a factory option, but a lot of trucks didn't have them. Only the higher option trucks did.

@kennythewelder gets seconded.
I was lucky enough to find one early on in the resto of my '89. Never came with one from OE, maybe because of the manual tranny? But a short throw shifter and some fast & loose typing got me a score.

Or the guy on Ebay just didnt know the value of what he had!
The instructions included with a new one from GM show a slightly alternate location for mounting in a manual transmission truck. I've got those instructions scanned in somewhere around here..

ahh, here we go.
