There not really spongy I just feel like it takes longer to stop, I’m getting ready to replace all my brake lines and a buddy of mine did the nbs master on his truck but his is just vacuum and I didn’t know if I could do the same thing while deleting the abs

I have a '92 K1500 Suburban that I will be doing a NBS front brake upgrade. From what I read, doing the HB conversion is the way to go. Should I also get the HB from the NBS as well or stay with the OBS? Sorry if this is repetitive, thanks for the wisdom and help peeps.

Never gonna know if you don't ask :) If you're sticking with OBS style PS pump, steering gear, and ABS module I'd say stick with the OBS style Hydroboost as well. I'm not even sure if the NBS style will direct fit, IIRC think you'd need to modify the mounting holes in the firewall.

Don't forget you'll need the HB style brake pedal and master cylinder, the reservoir is compatible between both styles of master cylinder though. Also unless you've replaced your PS pump in the past few years I would highly recommend doing it at the same time. I think mine is the original and let me tell you, braking and turning with a 23 yo pump really makes it cry. Good time to add a PS cooler if you want

I guess I should have stated more concerning my rig. The ABS hasn't worked so I would like to delete it and add a brake proportioning valve. I also want to do the rear brake conversion from a NBS as well. I don't have an issue with NBS hardware, I just want to do it right and once! Yes, I understand that the NBS HB would require drilling the firewall, not an issue. If the hardware from a NBS makes sense and is better then it's not a problem, there are plenty of PNP's in the Bay Area to pull parts from for cores then to get new parts to install if I need.

What would be the pro's vs cons for NBS vs OBS steering pump, steering box, HB and MC? I'm OCD with maintenance so yes, i agree on new everything since I'm diving deep into it, cooler as well! Thank you for your time!

Stick with OBS pump and box, don' even know if a NBS swap has been done for those. As for a NBS hydroboost I have no experience and haven't done any research into it so hopefully someone else can chip in.

My coworker did it, but I'm not sure if his truck is running yet. It got lumped in with a turbo 5.3/4L80 swap and he moved to FL months ago.

You have a K3500, original factory, and it does not have hydroboost?

I always though the 3500s got the Hydroboost standard as well, or maybe it was the 3500HDs. Pretty sure all the 6.5s got one (I got the HB for my swap from a 2000 2500 with a 6.5 IIRC)
