But the lack of window tint really defeats the A/C somedays.
Amen to that! Just recently I had 20% tint on the sides and 5% Limo tint on the back inside and the flag outside - I can still kinda see out the rear view mirror but, no one can see in! Had it done locally in Buckeye for $155 cash, all in.

Does the tint really make that noticeable of a difference in keeping the cab cool?

My GF's new Jeep Patriot has 35% on the driver/passenger front and 25% all the way around and it makes a huge difference. It got left sitting in the mall parking lot for a couple hours this weekend and was still fairly cool inside when we got back to it. So I'm hoping 20% on my fronts, 10 over the factory on the rears and back glass, 70% across the front with a 35% brow will help keep the temps down in my fishbowl.

Very noticable difference for me. I have 5% rear, 20% sides, 5% brow. In California where it is regularly 100+F. I also added some insulation above the headliner, when I replaced that.

I have been considering a 70% windshield for a bit. How is that at night? My headlights though better than stock aren't great so I'd hate to reduce visibility at night in any noticable way.

AND FWIU doing anything to the windshield is illegal. Although, here in AZ the cops even have tint that looks almost too dark to be legal IMO, LOL.
