Okay. Got this 1995 Chevy Silverado from my job 2 years ago. It was abused like hell but I seen a lot of potential. Now my issue and always has been my issue was voltage!!! At startup I would sit at 14 volts. Once you add loads. It goes down. To is says 10-12 volts. Found some bad and missing grounds. I added engine to frame. Body to frame engine to battery. That was 2 years ago. Also replaced the battery and alternator. Seemed to be a little better but not the best. Once I installed my leds I realized that once the voltage gets below 11 it would hyper flash. I have resistors to make it not hyper flash. Got tired of it messed with some more grounds. Fallowed some guy on YouTube he had a similar issue but notqiite. He installed the big 3 and a 140 amp altenator. Which I replaced my ground wire and positive wires with oem wires . Since this quarantine I haven’t been driving it. I went to drive it today and it seems the voltage is going crazy again. I’m at a loss. Idk what else to do. Could my cluster be the issue ?? Since if I remember it regulates the alternator ? Please help lolp

I guess I should note. If I do drive with no loads with a around 13-13.8. But once I put a load on like turn signals each pulse it will drop the voltage then return to where it was before the drop. I

13-13.8 is no good, but that also depends on where you're getting this info from. Are you reading this on the dash, or from a multimeter? (The dash is no good at accurately reading the voltage, it's consistently wrong on mine, but reads at 14.7v at the battery consistently) you should be right around 14.4-14.8v at the battery, with no loads and the engine running. If you're not getting that voltage, check the voltage from the output of the alternator to the case of the alternator. If it is also lower than 14v, your alternator has a bad voltage regulator, or it's unable to keep pace with the load. If it's low at the battery, but the alternator is in spec, you need a new cable between the alternator and the battery, or you need a better ground on your engine block, check resistance to see which. If both battery and alternator voltage check out, the problem is likely the power supply to the main distribution block in the engine bay (at least that's how it's set up in my 97, follow the main power cable over the radiator shroud and check resistance between where it ends and the positive battery terminal. If that checks out, you have a bad ground somewhere, add one to the body frame on the fender wall, and another to the frame near the starter, and you should be good.

I’ll have to check with my multi meter. Like I said the altenator is like new and it’s a 140amp and I did add a bunch of grounds. I just don’t understand. Tbh

Could be power wire, which extra ground paths wouldn't help. Could also be where you added the ground paths, the quality of cable, or corrosion in the wires. When I added my 225A alternator, I replaced the body ground with 1/0ga, and ran an additional 1/0ga to my alternator mount. Tested frame ground and found it to be fine. Also ran 1/0ga from alienation power to positive battery terminal and replaced main power cable to fuse box with 4ga. My dash still reads around 12V while running at times. I know it's wrong, the dash is really only good at letting you know if the battery is dead IMO.

From the feed back I’m thinking that it is possibly a voltage issue. Only due to the fact that when the gauge reads low I get a hyper flash when applieing the brake and putting the turn signal on while the a/c compressor is engaged. I guess I’ll grab my Multimeter tomorrow. And purchase some 0 gauge wire.

I really am truly at a loss I added one from the engine on the starter side to the frame. Then the body to the frame as well on that side and I ever ran one from the negative terminal to the frame.
