I have a98 Silverado and the glovebox won’t shut unless it is slammed, any suggestions on how to fix

Although I've never done it, I'm wondering if you can remove the glovebox door for easier service, then remove the latch and see what you can do with it when it's directly in front of you.
This is pure misinformation. Everyone knows you need a REAL scan tool and run a compression check on the glovebox. If it doesn't hold, you'll need to check your ring gaps.Is it leaking oil? Is it throwing the dreaded glovebox code?
99% of the time it's the intake manifold gasket that causing the latch to swell up...........
I don't slam mine shut, I hold it in place with my left hand then hit it with my right fist.
