magna packs will probably sound horrible on anything unless your running long tubes and catless.

this is a pretty bad video and I am sorry about that. but this is my truck mostly stock with stock manifolds, FM y pipe with FM cat and 3" piping to a 4" dynomax race bullet (the inside diameter is 3" straight through, no restriction) to 3" pipe out infront of rear wheel with 5 inch tip.

very very cold start with my remote.

I love your setup

Thanks, I want to make a better video with better sound quality. Not sure if I need to change settings or something but I filmed that with my iPhone 6

just found this from years ago! hahaha I don't treat my baby like this anymore I promise!

I think I just had a y pipe with stock cat on it at this time. I broke the magnaflow system off abusing my truck lol.

I know the flowmaster 50 is louder, but I'm wondering if it's noticeably louder to where it justifies the cost. Did you have the opportunity to test both in person by any chance?[/QUOTE]

I have experience with the FM 40 from other vehicles I've owned. They will wake the neighbors.
I wanted the same tone but at a lower volume. The FM 50 worked perfect for me.

The neighbor directly next to me does use my truck to gauge if she's late for work.
If she hears my truck start, then she knows she running behind.

Interesting, I've never even thought of that. You learn something new everyday I suppose haha

I wasn't sure how I felt about the magnapacks, I'm sure they're loud but would you say they're too loud for a daily driver truck?

Just wondering, how mellow is it at idle? For example, if you're inside your house the trucks parked by the house and it's running, can you hear it? Cause I can barely hear mine inside the house, and I want it a little loud at idle

Its loud enough you can hear without trying to hard at idle it's a little quieter than my super 40 was but much better sound and tone.

My 40 series, thought they were 44s when I bought the truck

Sounds pretty good but definitely way too loud for my situation - my neighbors would hate me. I like (most of) my neighbors so I'd like to keep them liking me as well haha

A FM 50 will be louder than a FM 70. Of course, video's aren't going to give you an idea on how loud a muffler is.
It was a specific tone I was after. My '96 sounds exactly like this '98.

I really need to make my own video's.

That is a nice tone, you're right I won't be able to tell exactly how loud it is on videos. Which sucks cause I don't know anyone running a flowmaster or magnaflow besides my own flowmaster

I've got magnaflows on my ''66 GTO. It sounds stock. Too weak for me. Maybe a little louder, but not any quality IMHO. I'm building a healthy 461ci pontiac motor for it now and hope it sounds better. Otherwise these magnaflow mufflers are history.

Which magnaflows did you have on?

Do you think it's enough to wake up your neighbor though? That's a huge concern for me..

Thanks man, it helps a lot. I've been trying very hard to compare the Magnaflow to something I'm more familiar with (Flowmasters) I'm looking for something that's close to as loud as the super 40, but without the drone and a little quieter - do you think the Magnaflow 14" muffler would fit the bill for that pretty well?

I'm very picky about my exhaust as you can tell
