I just realized that the instrument cluster on my 92 Blazer, is an 85mph, 5000rpm model. I’m hoping that this configuration will be woefully inadequate, with the stroker I’m installing. What is the most economical fix for this

There is no economical fix. You either hunt a 1992-1993 454SS cluster which are hen's teeth and will cost you a small fortune.. or you go aftermarket which are obviously far easier to find but cost even more than the 454SS cluster. 1992-1993 are the only years of 454SS that use a cluster that will drop into your 1992 model, and those are also the lowest production #'s of 454SS by far. 1990 they made a ton of them but it's the moonie cluster, no tach. 1991 454SS has a needle cluster w/tach but the electronics are incompatible with your 1992; you would have to do a conversion on the connector and wiring, where most people are doing the opposite swap to get a 1992-1994 tach cluster into their 1988-1991 truck...
