What type of rims are on your truck

Standard "Sport" model wheels were 7" wide. True SS wheels were 8"

At a 4/6 drop, the 275/60’s aren’t too wide?? That’s a lot of tire under a pretty good drop. At least, in my head that’s a lot lol. I’ve got a picture in my head that I’m wanting, and that black truck with the sport wheels did it for me.

Rolled fender lips. The LCA's are trimmed too, but you'll have to do that on pretty well any drop more than 1" when running 15" wheels.
I ran that size for 10 years, on-n-off, on that truck.
Only place they rub is at the lower rear of the wheel well, bottom of the firewall. ...and only on hard suspension compressions. Makes a terrible noise. Bzzzt. Does no damage to the tires. The paint/undercoating gets rubbed off. A spray bomb of Hot Rod Black or Bumper Black stashed behind the seat covers that quick.

If memory serves, its 3.5" back spacing. On a 7"wheel, that's like 0 offset

On the wheel angle, 20x9 4.5" not enough backspacing if you have significant drop. Might be OK on a 2/4 drop with a short tire, but not a good candidate for a 4/6 or more.

Went from who knows what brand 15 inch rim on 275/60 that I bought 20 years ago at a flea market to American Torq Thrust II 18's on 255/55.
Only place that had what I needed was Discount Tire (jegs & summit were on backorder), which was fine because that's where I get my tires anyway. Got them about 2 weeks ago. Sprung for nicest Michelins they had at about $273/tire. 70,000 warranty and I get all the same size so they can be rotated.
Some before and after pics. So much happier with these and I've been wanting them for a looong time!
The 18" rims on 255/55 tires are 3/4" larger in diameter than the 15" rims on 275/60 tires and therefore truck was 3/4" taller.
Also got my son to help me install 2" Belltech lowering shackles this weekend on the rear. I am very happy with the new look. Only $60!
Numbers are important to me as I'm sure they are to some of you. Below are measurements I took so that it may help you in figuring out what you want.

Front spacing on 15" rims:
Ground to fender - 31 1/2"
Tire to fender - 4 1/2"

Rear spacing on 15" rims:
Ground to fender - 33 1/2"
Tire to fender - 6 1/4"

Front spacing on 18" rims pre-lowering:
Ground to fender - 32 1/4"
Tire to fender - 3 3/4"

Rear spacing on 18" rims pre-lowering:
Ground to fender - 34"
Tire to fender - 5 1/2"

Front spacing on 18" rims post-lowering:
Ground to fender - 32 1/8"
Tire to fender - 3 5/8"

Rear spacing on 18" rims post-lowering:
Ground to fender - 32 3/4"
Tire to fender - 4 1/2"
