What should I add in during a rebuild?

It's a simple weight/spring change in the governor, maybe a 15 minute job, no fluid loss doing it either. I raised my shift point from 4500 to 5000 with my Lunati Voodoo flat tappet cam, gained quite a bit in 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. I'll probably go up even higher with my new setup.

I hadn't realized it was that easy. 5k is as high as I'd want to go anyways though.

Yep, just need this kit - I can't believe the price has gone up so much but, everything has, huh :fca5278d:

Edit: you can grind a little weight off it until you get to the point you want, or get a Corvette governor from the boneyard :33:

That was what my point was about the cylinder heads maintaining velocity in low to mid rpm range so you can get as much outta your build and have options

Yeah and I'm open to head suggestions too, I'm just not sure how much I want to do.

Got the quote finally, "rebuilt factory 350 with bigger cam and 383 crank" for 3500, 1400 for install, then another 3400 for the regear which I'm going to pass on for now. I don't know yet what "bigger cam" entails, so I'm waiting to hear back on the cam specs to make sure it's not too aggressive for what I want.

I'm curious, is this from a local builder, and what's a "factory 350"?

Local builder, but not the shop I'm taking it to for the install and ac work. Very nice shop though, several ls swaps and other nasty builds going on when I walked through last week.
