Tore down my first engine to the block and I have no idea what this is. Any help is appreciated.

Yeah, but to be more specific, it's a broken oil pressure sender which is screwed into the brass 90 degree elbow into the block. Be really careful getting the sender out of the elbow; it's SUPER easy to break the elbow. You'll want it for when you install a new sender.

If anything, since the engine is out of the truck, maybe just unscrew the elbow now so you don't break it off in the block trying to get the broken sender out of it. Then clamp it carefully in a soft jaw vise for sender removal.
