What is this part?? I was replacing my broken windshield wiper switch

I was replacing my windshield wiper switch and the turn signal switch and when I was putting this back in the little metal tab fell in my lap. I have no idea what it is and where is goes. Everything else I know. Where does the metal tab go?

I am not sure if the tab even goes to this. I have been sitting here watching youtube videos and this seems right? I don’t want to put it all back together and it not actually be part of this

That's the "key in ignition" switch, that sounds the chime unit when you leave the key in the ignition and have door open/engine off.

If I remember right, there's rectangular hole at about the 2-o'clock position that shoves into. Yes, you have that assembled correctly. I hate how fiddly GM's steering columns are.
