Was there a limited slip rear axle for a 98 c1500 5 bolt?

my theory…

Stock truck, low hp and tq makes just enough power to hook with street tires and break stock rear end.

Modded truck, makes just enough power to blow the tires off making the rear end live.

Now, if modded truck has sticky tires and by chance gets a good hook then bye bye carrier.

My little s10 had a 7.5 on slicks and mini spool. Lived a long life on the street and no prep low prep. As soon as it saw a sticky bracket track it blew up.

That. Can't blow the thing up if it isn't doesn't have the traction to overwhelm the mechanical bits. My open 10 bolt has got nearly 300k on it and is doing fine. Hard launches are no issue for it as one tire always lets go, which in turn has me not doing hard launches. I prefer to spin tireS, not tire.
