Okay I have an 89 Chevy 1500 4x4 short bed single cab. Cab is pretty shot. I have an extra extended cab I am going to try to mount and then just build a small flatbed behind it. I understand the frame is not setup for the extended cab but I plan on doing some surgery to the cab and cut some reliefs to allow the cab to sit level to the frame. Was thinking of also trying to lower this 4x4 and give it a lowered front end with a little bit larger tire (wider) and height in the back. To appear as a two wheel drive. Has this ever been done or attempted?

My other is a 94 Chevy 1500 4x4 extended that I want to lift a little and contrast my short low rider. Any comments or suggestions are welcome

He could do a body lift up front to get the back off the frame and then build mounts with less hacking on the body.
