Two tone trouble

hello everyone, I've got a very nice 92 chev 1500,
it's a very well kept little truck in two tone Blue and Silver, top and bottom being blue and a sad peeling old silver stretch in the middle, I'm looking for suggestions on how to clean up the silver, alot of the clear coating is gone from nose to tail, and its peeling away, looking to repaint just the silver strip but I've never done a two tone job and I dont want to make a mess... any suggestions?

Is your silver and blue separated by a trim piece? If so, I would remove carefully the trim piece to mask off the area you wish to paint. Didn't they hide the paint line under the trim?

Unfortunately mine us not separated by trim nor does it appear to ever have been
