Swap trouble 700r4

Hi guys,

I've got a 92 chev 1500 here, 350 paired with a 700r4 with a broken drum, wont shift into 3rd or 4th, looking for the best option to get her back on the road, I've got a th400 and a 4l80 sitting in my shop, curious about swap ideas or just repairing my 700r/ finding another.

Looking for guidance, no idea to big or small.

Hi, while the Th-400 and 4L80E trans are both better than the 700R4 the conversion costs aren’t worth it. Need new driveshafts, different spline, computer won’t be happy etc.

Your lowest cost option is to find a used 700 to swap in.

Yup. I'm wrapping up swapping the 700R4 in my '89 because it's the cheapest and easiest route. And that's considering that I have an NV3500 and a 4L80 laying in the shop floor already.
