Is the 291 Knock Counts during a warm-up session like this
something that is expected/always seen, or is it a hint that the KS is failing via the
hypersensitive mode?
Im going to verify my exhaust (OE still) isn't knocking on anything as well. At one point it was, but had been corrected. Will have to double check it.
I did go back to the beginning of the log with zero RPM and 97+ KPa on the MAP sensor. The KCs happened at startup. After that there were no more.
You won't get any then but, even with the 291 counts on the log, with no more, timing won't be affected. Only when you get a burst of KCs will the PCM pull timing for a finite period then, timing will go back to commanded based on your SA or PE, etc tables.So let's say that during this proposed test the Knock Count stays at zero, the timing
stabilizes, and even the cold idle smooths out?
