So my truck is a 93 k2500 with the throttlebody 350, when I but it in drive, if I'm hard on the throttle after a stop sign or pretty much at all it backfires from the exhaust and bogs down to pretty much stalling. Then when I let off the throttle comes back to life, on the freeway it won't go over 60 and after 2000 rpm it starts misfiring and stuttering like its retarding the timing, it won't go over 2500 rpm I've replaced cap rotor plugs and plug wires along with fuel pump and cleaned the throttlebody, and air filter. Pretty lost at this point. It only happens in drive, has short tube headers, true dual exhaust with new cats and o2 sensor (since it only has the one o2 sensor being a 93). Could really use the help

Fuel starvation at high demand ~= clogged fuel filter.
Your list from the parts cannon doesn't state you changed it.
Change it

I'd check the filter again. Remove it and try blowing through it. Also, how's the ground for the pump? Clean or rusty? Your regulator could have taken a dump as well so watch fuel pressure under load.

Set the base timing to 0 TDC with the dist reference wire disconnected.
It has to be warmed up full temp thermostat open.
Any adjustment to a TBI needs to be done while its hot.
How does it run at hot idle?
You have a classic chevy problem.
post everything you can and Im gonna be all in

It's an HEI carb swapped Vortec truck. I don't think 0 is where he should start.
