My 97 suburban trans has been recently replaced and it's still acting the same before I replaced it. Works fine until the vehicle gets warm and is drove around for a minute. Once it gets warm the trans will hardly pull or not at all. Thoughts?

OK, since you don't state it, I have to ask the obvious: Who replaced it? Did you get a warranty? Have you taken it back and showed whoever installed it?

Local mechanic. Had a warranty but he isn't around anymore. Can't get him on the phone

That's not a good sign. I'd head over there and have a chat.

What do you mean by "won't pull"
