So ive had 20 different sites tell me 20 Different things about my Engine. It is a 5.7l Vortec from a 1999 Suburban 1500 4x4. Is it a 2 or 4 main bolt or do i have to open it up to tell.

It is a half ton. I have never seen a stock vortec 4 bolt in anything that doesn't have 8 lug wheels.

If i put a 4bolt into a 2bolt Suburban will it match up?

Direct bolt in. A 4-bolt vortec 350 from Jegs (p/n 12530283) is brand new, and costs about $50 bucks more than the 2-bolt. That's what I purchased for my '98 K1500. You can also buy a kit with the engine that comes with gaskets, spark plugs, plug wires, distributor, and ignition coil for a little bit more.

some castings were used either way. Who knows if your engine wasn't replaced . So your answer of you may have to look is correct.
