Which software cartridges are included? What vehicle adapters?

I see GM-1 but not GM-2 or GM-3. The '3 is rare, I think it's only for certain anti-lock brakes. Even I don't have that one.
Primary cartridge domestic through 2001 may not go back farther than '96. Far as I know, the "latest" cartridge that goes back before '96 ends at '99. That's what I have--'80 12 to '99, '96--'06.
But maybe I'm wrong.
GM-2 is the early, 5-pin unit.GM-1 (MT2500-10) & GM-2 (MT2500-11) are no doubt ECM data line adapters. Not sure what the difference between these adapters is...
Thanks for stating outright what I've puzzled over for a few years.Space on the cartridges was limited so a GM only cartridge is likely better than the GM/Ford/Chrysler all in one cartridges.
Probably the most useful GM cartridge would be the GM Primary 1980-1/2 to 92 or 93. Getting one with an end date just a couple years past your model year is likely to yield the best coverage.
Why? You want 1-2 years of coverage revisions but not too many.... Later revisions begin to loose functionality that earlier revisions had. As coverage increased for the newer models the older model coverage was neutered as a necessity to make space.
I wouldn't think it should be lit constantly above 50 mph. Mine (1988 K1500 5.7L) isn't.
1. Sure the scanner is programmed to show knock-sensor info on that LED?
2. What does the screen show for knock-sensor data (not the LED)
3. What happens when you idle the engine, and rap the intake manifold or cylinder head with a brass hammer? Does the timing retard and the knock sensor show activity?
4. What about the OTHER data when the knock-sensor LED is lit? Fuel trim numbers, coolant temperature, O2 sensor voltage and cross-counts, EGR activity, etc.
5. DOES THE EGR WORK?
6. What is the fuel pressure at 50+ mph.
I do see that the 'knock' indicator comes on everytime i accelerate (even mildly), and stays lit when im above 50 mph. Is this normal ECM control of spark timing or should i dig deeper? It does have the original knock sensor from 1990.
^^^X2 it shouldn't knock anytime really, if it's tuned right with AFR and SA. My 88 350 used to show some KCs at WOT @ 1,000 - 3,000 RPM but none at higher revs. No KCs while cruising. Pull your spark plugs and look for pepper specs on the insulators, if so, you have detonations.I wouldn't think it should be lit constantly above 50 mph. Mine (1988 K1500 5.7L) isn't.
