So to do the Vortec head swap I need the front cover. Heads and intake manifold. And possibly convert it to efi?

I could also just throw the cam in. And then convert to the efi?

correct you will also have to use the push rods and rockers from the vortec, the reluctor ring from the vortec, and the harmonic balancer from the vortec but it does work I have done all this.

I thought all the OP wanted to do is convert the top end, TBI heads to Vortec heads. If he goes to full Vortec then he'll need a Vortec distributor, another PCM (Black box or 0411) and wiring harness too.

BTW - technically the TBI is EFI also.

A TBI intake will not bolt up to vortec heads

I know if I put Vortec heads the manifold doesn’t bolt up. I would have to buy the summit racing one which is 450 bucks. Either way I do wanna put a cam in it. I could buy the efi fitech system. And maybe even keep the oem heads but get them machines ? I’m not looking for major hp gain. I want it to be a little more response. Have a sick idle. And have some hp gain.
