tach not working

Parked my truck for the most part for a good year +. Started driving it again, and for some reason the tach isn't working now???

97' c1500. 5.0L 5 speed

This may sound crazy, but assuming you haven't done anything else to the truck, did you try tapping the gauge panel? My old Blazer's tach would stick occasionally, and tapping over it would bring it back.

or the plug fell of the distributor

or a mouse ate through that wire.
