Hi everyone. I just finished a frame off resto on my 98 sierra 4x4.I have an issue with the steering. There is a dead feel between 11 and 1. Everything is new. All new moog front end parts, new oem lower control arms, redhead quick ratio steering box, Dorman intermediate shaft, alignment from a reputable chevy dealer , new evo sensor etc...

Why is there this issue? Other than this it runs and drives like it did in '98.

Did you replace the rag joint?

Yes it came with the new Dorman intermed shaft.

Would the cognito kit make a difference?

By dead feel, do you mean that there is no movement in the pitman arm when the steering wheel is turned from 11 to 1:00?

If so, I would lean to an issue in the gear box. There is an adjustment screw on the top, but the proper setup is a little more involved than just tightening or loosening it. I’d contact RedHead.
