95 4.3 5 speed. The stepper motor for my fuel gauge is shot so I'm replacing it. I took a picture of where all the needles were before disassembly but I was wondering if there were any tips to get the needles back on to make the gauges as accurate as they can be again? Do they reset to a "home" position key on engine off? I forgot to check. I know the fuel gauge doesn't but I also know I only have like a gallon in the tank so, key on engine off, put the needle down by "E" and call it done? I don't have access to a scan tool to command the gauges manually. Thanks in advance.

Everything except the fuel, you're correct. You could fill up the tank and put the needle on F

No guarantees that this is correct, but this guy has a walk-through on replacing the gauge motors.
