I got quoted from a local salvage yard for a used rearend off a k1500 Silverado for 250$.if what you're saying true about that they bolt on then I just might have too do it [emoji120]. Yeah definitely will post about it , I saw another post of a fella who did the same but he used the AWD astro vans steering knuckles on his k1500, the front suspension on thoes trucks are different of course compared too the c1500's.he actually managed too get it done now he has the gmt 800 front brakes . This mod isn't difficult at all , the only problems that I've run into so far is trying to find a machine shop that'll do the work because most machine shops aren't equipped too do what I need to get done. I had to stop by 4 shops and on the 5th stop I finally found a shop that's willing to get it done , currently I'm waiting on a guess estimate , dont really know how much they're gonna charge for me for the work since it's a unique and tedious task , trying to get the knuckles on the mill , trying to hold it in place is gonna be hard apparently. The shop rate for them is 100$ an hour they have to machine 6 holes , 3 different sizes so I have no idea how much its gonna cost me . I'll definitely go into detail about it once I get it done . The steering knuckles cost me 115$ bucks from the salvage yard , I had to buy new lower , upper ball joints and tie road ends from the parts store which were 90$ since the machine shop needs the measurements for the hole diameter and taper degree . I had other people tell me too just swap out the ball joint from the astro but I have no idea how that's gonna work out since we are talking about a pressed in ball joint and then a bolt on ball joint on the top. Currently the project has come to halt, until I get a word back from the machine shop , if it comes out too expensive I'll have to figure out another remedy. I also talked too my local alignment specialist that I know and he told me I shouldn't have an issue with aligning the truck with the different knuckles.
