Did you replace the line with another oem one or do the braided steel upgrade that I have heard people do?

You can do either, just if you want to replace them, replace both. Stainless braided are nice and -might- give you a little firmer pedal feel, might not, just pick how much you want to spend - OEM or braided - and get 'em done. If they're not the cause of the problem they would be eventually; pretty much all of these trucks end up suffering brake hose failure at some point.
