Paint/Dye interior switches

Idea came to me wondered if anyone has tried changing the button/switch colors from the boring gray to a black or any other color. I was thinking about painting them black and using a vinyl deca overlay of parking light emblems etc and maybe clearing over it with a matte or satin clear. Does anyone else have any ideas for this? Or maybe a write up they can forward me to.

I’m talking more along the gray buttons. If there’s way to make a stencil small enough we could just paint the switches what ever color we wanted.
