I have a 98 k2500 suburban 6.5

I was driving along and the engine went dead. I have the PMD replacement from when that failed last winter. All electrical seems good (other than problem), check "gages", no oil pressure on gauge

I can crank, but I hear no oil pump action going on when I turn the key to ON. I was advised that what may be causing is the oil sender. Looking at the Chilton manual, I can find no structures that resemble the image on 2-10 (attached).

Is it hidden above the oil filter from below?

Interesting note: a GAGE is a token of defiance; specifically :a glove or cap cast on the ground to be taken up by an opponent as a pledge of combat. I like to think that my truck is telling me that I've been challenged to a duel.
