Since there was no electrical system at all I had to find a complete new harness, luckily across the street from where I bought the car there is a company that does just that, complete wire harnesses with everything you need for 50's, 60's and 70's US cars and trucks. So I got a main harness for a 60s full size GM and seperate kits for the convertible top and some other stuff. Even tho my english is perfectly fine and I usually prefer english the instructions in swedish was super helpfull and made it so much easier.
I've heard of and know people that have used Painless and other harnesses and absolutly hated it so I'm happy I got this instead, looks nice too. Since the electrical system is what makes the most sense to me I offered to help since the guy doing the job didn't speak english or swedish but I was pretty much ignored, later on the shop owner wanted extra money "cos it was so difficult". I called him a moron, reminded him that I offered twice to help and told him he's not getting another dime!

Even tho this car will never see snow, and more importantly salt, once it's finished the floor and frame is ready for the snowstorm from hell.

A first look at the paint!

The shop owner took a few matters into his own hands, one thing was to paint the frame, undercarriage and engine bay with the same very expensive paint as the rest of the car. At first my plan was to paint all of that "hot rod flat black" or whatever it's called.
I don't hate it and if I had been given a few minutes to think about it I may have changed my mind and painted it that color anyways but it's my car and my money. Also this paint isn't the easiest to get a hold of either so black would have been alot easier when touch-ups are needed.

(A little cameo from "the carrot", orange and purple don't mix very well!)

He also painted the interior what I would call semi-gloss black, I wanted satin black (like the dash was when I bought it) to minimize reflections in the windshield and it would match the rest of the interior better. I told the moron after it came back from mediablast that I wanted it like it was, satin black, I also asked why they had mediablasted the dash in the first place, he mumbled something and said that the black they used was flat black (satin black)... The more I look at it the more I hate it, I'll probably have it repainted in satin black later on.

I got a very nice birthday present this year from my parents and my parts guy/friend: a brand spanking new Chevy 383 V8, Holley carb, fancy chrome hi-power generator and MSD Ignition, missing is the fancy chrome bits for the engine.

Picked it up at my dads shop at 5.30am. That's my old Chevy s10 Extreme btw, I wish I had kept it.

... and the next day the car had something it probably hadn't had for over a decade, PAINT! I freaking love this color, I knew when I saw the ad for this car that it was gonna be purple with black interior and top.
They have sh!tty lightning so the pics don't do it justice.

Unfortunatly it didn't last very long, the guy that painted it was not happy with the result, the body was really wavey so he sanded it down and started over the next day.
For the record, I did not pay to have it repainted, that was on them.
